In short
This website is a static page. It sets no cookies,
uses no analytics or tracking tools, embeds
no external services (no fonts from third-party
servers, no maps, no videos, no social media buttons), and does not
create user accounts. The only exception is your choice
between light and dark display mode, which is stored locally in your browser
(localStorage) so the website appears in your last-chosen
appearance on a return visit. This storage is technically necessary to
provide the appearance you selected; under Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (the
German cookie-consent law), no consent is required for it.
Visiting the website (server log data)
When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically processes information transmitted by your browser. This includes in particular:
- the IP address of the requesting device
- the date and time of access
- the name and URL of the file retrieved
- the amount of data transferred and a message on whether the retrieval was successful
- the browser and operating system used
- where applicable, the previously visited page (referrer)
This data is technically necessary to deliver the website, to safeguard its stability and security, and to be able to investigate attacks. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. This data is not combined with other data sources, and it is not evaluated for advertising or analytics purposes.
Retention period: Log data about visitors to this website is deleted after seven days at the latest. Other technical log data related to hosting operations is deleted after twelve months at the latest.
Hosting
This website is hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin. The servers are located in Germany. The provider processes the log data mentioned above on my behalf; a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place for this.
Encryption
This website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (TLS); requests over unencrypted HTTP are automatically redirected to the encrypted address.
Contact by email
If you write to me by email, I process the data you provide, including in particular your email address, your name and the content of your message, exclusively to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or, where your inquiry relates to a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. I delete the data once your matter has been fully concluded and no statutory retention obligations apply. There is no contact form on this website.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data processed about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and a right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). Please contact info@patefact.com for any of these.
You also have an independent right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.
Changes
I update this policy whenever the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here always applies.
